Why New England Is the Perfect Home Base for Creative Production
There’s something about New England that makes creativity feel different here. Maybe it’s the way the light hits the water on the coast, or how the landscape shifts completely every few miles — from the peaks of the White Mountains to the brick-lined streets of Portsmouth, to lakeside marinas and old mill towns full of character. No matter where you turn, there’s texture, story, and soul. It’s impossible not to be inspired by it.
Over the past several years, I’ve had the privilege of working on large-scale creative campaigns across the state of New Hampshire — projects that celebrate the people, places, and industries that make this region special. From promoting the state’s tourism economy to helping attract new talent to live and work here, those experiences gave me a front-row seat to just how diverse and creative New England really is.
Producing content across the state meant constantly shifting gears — one day filming on the Seacoast, the next day hiking with a camera crew in the Lakes Region, and later interviewing small business owners in the North Country. Each location brought something new: light, texture, and energy that made the story feel real. That’s what makes this part of the country such an incredible backdrop for creative work — it’s authentic, it’s layered, and it never looks the same twice.
Beyond the scenery, it’s the people who make working here so rewarding. New England’s creative community is incredibly collaborative. There’s a genuine sense of support and pride — photographers sharing locations, videographers recommending editors, designers referring clients they know would be a better fit for someone else. Everyone wants to see great work come out of this region, and that kind of creative ecosystem doesn’t exist everywhere.
It’s also one of the few places where big ideas and small-town authenticity coexist naturally. You can produce a large-scale commercial project here without losing that personal, grounded touch. That combination of professionalism and warmth mirrors exactly how I like to work — with creativity, structure, and collaboration leading the way.
Working throughout New England, and especially across New Hampshire, taught me that creative production doesn’t need to happen in a big city to feel world-class. It happens wherever talented, passionate people come together with the right intention — and this region has no shortage of that.
That’s why Basin Brand Studio calls New England home. It’s not just where I live and work; it’s the foundation of how I approach storytelling — rooted in place, guided by purpose, and inspired by the people who make this corner of the world what it is.
